Tamara P. McGinnis
Director of Theatre Arts
Assistant Professor of English
B.Ed. Corban University
B.S. Western Oregon State College
M.A. Portland State University
Professional: Professor McGinnis has directed theatre at Corban for 25 years. In that time, she has gathered a group of loyal volunteers who ensure quality productions each year. She has brought in guest directors each year to broaden the students' education and to offer audiences a different style show.
In addition to directing and producing the Corban shows, Professor McGinnis frequently presents drama seminars, directs a summer children's theatre camp at Corban, heads a theatre patron group and teaches both English and communication classes.
In May 2006, she led a group of 15 actors to Sydney, Australia on a two-week drama mission trip where their full-length show, Pilgrim's Progress, was used as an outreach tool by local churches.
Personal: Tamara is the mother of two amazing daughters and the wife of a gifted videographer. She loves her job teaching literature and directing theatre as it allows her to read a lot and spend time with students.
