Job Description:

Othello First Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor who can work will with the deacons and congregation. We are looking for a man with a heart to disciple people and equip them for ministering to our community. He should model God’s Love and inspire our church to reach out to our community and beyond to fulfill God’s Great Commandment and Great Commission.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Deacon Board to see to the administration of the local body of Christ
  • Oversee the welfare and spiritual growth of the congregation
  • Prepare and preach sermons for Sunday
  • Worship
  • Lead Wednesday Night prayer meeting
  • Perform and oversee the two Ordinances of the Church
  • Oversee the Adult Studies Ministry of the church
  • Keep regular office hours at the church
  • Perform Weddings, Funerals and Child Dedications for the FBC Congregation
  • Attend Church Functions
  • Provide General Oversight and Direction for the local body of Christ

Qualifications:

We are looking for a Senior Pastor who will love and protect his flock and promote unity through humble leadership (1 Peter 5:2-3).  We want a man with an active prayer life and a dedication to personal Bible Study that sets a godly example in his own family and his church family (1 Timothy 3:4-5).  We are looking for a Senior Pastor that will feed his sheep and help them grow spiritually by teaching with grace and love.  The intent of all teaching and preaching is to help believers grow spiritually and reflect Christ in their lives (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Titus 1:9).
