Job Description:

  • To oversee the maintenance of camp. This will include carpentry and mechanical skills. Must be self disciplined, organized, able to work alone or run a volunteer work force.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with other construction projects, and in the general maintenance of camp to ensure that our guests have an experience, in a manner consistent to Camp Cascade’s mission.


  • Perform general building maintenance duties which may include, but are not limited to, carpentry projects, changing filters and light bulbs, clearing plumbing clogs, repairing leaking faucets.
  • Perform grounds maintenance duties which may include, but are not limited to, snow removal, mowing, clearing trees and brush.
  • Perform janitorial duties which include, but are not limited to, wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, meeting set up, painting, vacuuming, and general cleaning as requested or needed.
  • Record all needed repairs and report ALL repairs to the Director and follow up with the maintenance supervisor.
  • Complete all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintain daily upkeep of assigned area and equipment with supervision.
  • Ensure Camp Cascade buildings and property are secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to the Director.
  • Operate motorized equipment used for cleaning and general maintenance.
  • Operate a tractor and mower for use in maintenance of the grounds.
  • Maintain composure and adapt to circumstances while under pressure and changing priorities; improvise and provide solutions as problems and complications arise.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of all campers and staff using the Camp Cascade facilities, keeping safety in mind at all times.
  • Care, maintenance, and irrigation of all lawn areas, keeping records as necessary.
  • Organize + maintain shop, and all maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Promptly report any hazards or dangerous situations to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist in other service areas as needed.
  • Other duties assigned by the Directors of Camp Cascade.
