Artistic Director & Producer
Tamara McGinnis, Program Director
Tamara McGinnis has directed theatre at Corban for 16 years. In that time she has gathered a group of loyal volunteers who ensure quality productions each year. She has brought in guest directors each year to broaden the students' education and to offer audiences a different style show.
In addition to directing and producing the Corban shows, McGinnis frequently presents drama seminars, directs a summer children's Theatre Camp here at Corban, administers a campus theatre group—Dramatis Personae—and teaches both English and Communication classes.
In May 2006 McGinnis led a group of 15 actors to Sydney, Australia on a two-week drama missions trip where their full-length show, Pilgrim's Progress, was used as an outreach tool by local churches.
Students from all majors get involved in the Corban productions. In 2006-2007 we had English majors, Education majors and Intercultural majors.
Many Corban alum who were active in theatre are now teaching theatre in schools, directing drama groups in churches and acting in theatre troops, amateur and professional. Some of our graduates are writing scripts for both church and community projects.
