M.A. Azusa Pacific University
I am on staff as the Counseling Coordinator at Jefferson Baptist Church. In addition to counseling individuals and couples at JBC, I supervise students who have graduated from Corban’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. This allows JBC counselors to serve the church and the community by providing Christian Counseling to the community while also providing Corban University graduates with a supervised setting to gain counseling hours for licensure.
I graduated with an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University in 1993. I received my License in Marital and Family Therapy in 1996. I worked as a psychotherapist in Westwood, California, for twelve years. During that time I also served as Associate Director of Valley Community Clinic in North Hollywood, CA as well as clinician in the “Mother-Infant-Toddler Program” at the Maple Center Clinic in Beverly Hills. I began as an Adjunct Professor in the Psychology Department at Corban University in 2009. I joined Corban as full-time faculty in July 2012. My job at Corban is split between teaching courses (face to face and online) and supervising some of our student counselors at the Corban Mental Health Clinic (affiliated with Salem Free Clinics). I spend two days each week off campus, at the Clinic. At the clinic students gain the required supervision and counseling experience while they provide free counseling services for individuals (adults) in the community who may not otherwise be able to receive counseling. Courses I have taught include: Lifespan Counseling, Crisis Counseling, Foundations of the Counseling Profession, Addiction Counseling, Group Counseling, Addiction Counseling.
I am a city girl who moved to the country in 2004. I see God's hand in the move and everything that has happened as a result of the move. I am grateful to be here. I have been married to Mike for 22 years and have two beautiful daughters, Natalie and Anabel. Some of my hobbies are gardening, cooking, flea markets, music and enjoying the outdoors. I am very excited to be a part of training students to be lights in the Counseling profession.
